I don't know if that's a good thing. I don'e even know if Nintendo is making good use of the Wiimote at all. For example: why isn't there a "Fight Night" title where two Wiimotes held in each hand control the punches of the boxer? I don't know if Sony will make better use of it than Nintendo did or will, but it seems that the paradigm of button-and-stick-based video game control is chizeled into the vary foundation of microprocessor-based gaming.

Who can afford TWO Wiimotes?
x.x

And the nunchuk controls the boxer.

Though I enjoy the classic SuperNintendo controllers better than anything before or since

...and therein lies the challenge of motion-based controllers. We're too used to static control schemes.

That's very true, but I didn't like the N64 controller or the Playstation or the Gamecube or the XBOX controllers. So, for me, it's not about static controllers, it's about the feel. SuperNintendo felt the best and I love the Wii because it incorporates that controller into a lot of the games.

I honestly love the WiiMote+Nunchuck combo. And shame on you Star, the N64 controller, short of not having a rubber-coated Analog Stick, is the best controller out there.

The Playstation Dualshock controllers actually have a good design, and the Gamecube Controller is good for most games (except Super Mario World on Virtual Console: hard to run and make a normal jump)

okay. for people that are confused with my excitedness.

*starts moving thumbs around* THIS IS NOT AIMING A WEAPON

*moves arm* this is moving a weapon

and even though it's not necessarily playstation, still being on the topic of motion sensor remotes, Valve (the guys who made left 4 dead) are making the same things for PC. Mainly for the same reason for people who would prefer that over the mouse.

Which is why I'm sorely disappointed in the lack of first-person shooters for the Wii!

Point taken. Most of them do end up on either the PS or Xbox. Although I do know one person who's hacked Halo onto their wii

The main problem with games on the Wii is that they're not made by Nintendo.

Check it, all the good Wii games that properly incorperate the Wiimote and nunchuck are all Nintendo exclusive games (Like the Metroid Prime Trilogy and Legend of Zelda: TP). This is probably because the people that port their games to the Wii are dumbasses when it comes to designing their controls to make use of the Wiimote and nunchuk. There is the occasional good Wii game not made by Nintendo, but these are few and far between.

And the PS3 already has motion controls, they're just not very good. I suppose that's why they're making a new version. *chuckles*

Yeah, the best game I've played (in terms of motion sensing) for the Wii was Okami, originally released for PS2. But it revolves around drawing shapes in the sky to do attacks, and as such was incredible on the Wii. Also a good, solid game regardless of controls, it took me 40 hours to beat that sucker.
