Path of the Hunters [PART 2]

"I believe that the worst part is that there is nothing that can be done about it. If I tried to say their teachings on Tuefel were wrong, I would be killed. If I revealed the dagger, I would be killed." She shrugged. "And still nothing would be done..."

His eyes narrowed. "There's always something that can be done. We just have to look hard enough."

"'Alting a centuries-long feud... I see very little that can be done."

"One thing Cross taught me: never quit just because it seems hopeless. We'll figure something out someday."

She smiled. "Per'aps."

He sighed. "But let's not worry about that for now. We still have our own lives ahead of us."

Her smile slowly became wicked. "Oui."

He walked over to his car, opened her door. "Let's go home."

She got in, kissing his cheek as she went.

With a smile, he got in the driver's seat, and drove off.

At his house, she waited for him to open the door before dragging his mouth to hers.

He laughed underneath the kiss, bringing them inside, and closing the door behind him. They just might make it to all the rooms in time.

Crescent walked down the street, eyes to the sky in thought. There was so much to take in over these past couple of days...

Damien was driving down the same street in his custom warthog Crescent was walking, albiet a ways behind her, but on the same street. He liked these late night drives, it help him think and relax, and get away from Katherine, who nearly blew out his eardrum earlier as she berated him. She's lucky she is who she is, or I would have pulled her plug a long time ago...

When she looked back to the street, she noticed a small group of thugs looking lustfully at her. "Hello, pretty girl," one of them said.

"Bonjour," she responded. "Wonderful night for a prowl, non?"

The other two snickered, muttering perverted things, obviously dealing with her nationality. "Yeah, it is," the first said when they finished. "Even more if there wasn't a struggle, if ya know what I mean." He flashed a couple of knives from under his jacket, as did the others.

Damien drove past them honking the horn of the 'hog as he went by. Street thugs, nothing more than punching bags to the likes of her.

She looked at the vehicle that passed. "Such a strange vehicle... It must belong to that Mr. Sparton Nova mentioned..."

The thugs chuckled. "No help for you, tonight, huh?"

Crescent looked to the sky again, specifically to the moon. "I just love nights like this. The clear sky, the light of the moon shining down..." She looked back down to them, Kane Blades twirling in her hands, a wicked look on her face. "Especially under a Full Moon. I feel so free..."

Their agonized screams were drowned out by her howl...

He chuckled as he watched from a distance with his binoculars. Wow, impressive. Hell of a bloodlust right there.

When it was done, she sighed contently, licking the blood from her blades. "It 'as been so long since I 'ave 'ad a release. Not exactly ideal partners, but satisfying nonetheless. Their blades are crude, but they will do for a couple of days." Smiling broadly, she sauntered back on the path to the hotel. "I think I am going to love being Crescent..."

Crazy chick. Oh well, my entertainment petered out quickly. He put away his binoculars and started up the vehicle. And I'm off.

"An impressive blood fest, milady."

She raised an eyebrow, turned around, and was greeted by a gray-furred wolf. "You are not armed."

"No need to be. I'm just passing through. Briggs."

"Crescent."

He stopped, brought up his binnoculars again, then smirked. Well I'll be, it's Briggs from Nova's gym. Wonder what he's doing out here...

"...You remind me of another girl who uses knives like you do," Briggs

"You must mean Aurélie."

He nodded. "She can be quite ferocious, not unlike you."

"I choose to do so more under the moonlight, but Oui. We are
actually very much alike, me and 'er."

"So much that you choose to work with her, Miss Baudoin?"

Her eyes widened in surprise, then softened. "...Please, keep it a secret. I want to live a new life, away from my family."

"Was it really so bad back then?"

"I didn't realize at first. But, in the past few days I 'ave been 'ere, I 'ave discovered so much... I do not belong with them. I am better than that."

"I see... Well, good luck with your new life. I hope you find what you're looking for."

She sighed. "Me too. Merci."

"Take care." With that, he walked off in the opposite direction.

"Briggs..." she said quietly. "What an interesting fellow." She continued to walk down her own path. She had a feeling she would run into him more.

Looks like I'd better get moving. Maybe a drive around the park will help me relax...somethings got me on edge... He was about to set down his binoculars when he noticed someone that was running up to her in what looked like distinct panic. He was a black panther in a simple black pair of jeans and a black shirt.

"Ma'am, please, I need help! Do you have anyone else with you that can help? Someone's going to die!" The panic obvious in the jungle cat's voice.
