Aurélie smiled. "It is not so bad. The Laroches would, per'aps, welcome you. But staying 'ere would be best."

"Which reminds me," Nova said. "You should have the same abilities as the Laroche family, since their blood flows in your veins."

"Hmm... It would explain why I prefer to kill rather than capture."

"It would also explain something else." And there was a blade in the table, sticking straight up.

A pair of guys walk into the diner decked out in some form of military garb, if one looked closely enough, one could see the same patch on their shoulder that Damien had. They got their menus and took a seat, both were relaxed and joking about their Commander's newfound interest in a small group of mobians.

Nova's ears perked at their conversation. It sounded like it involved them...

Amile blinked at Aurélie. "...Are you saying I could... Make metal pass through me?"

"You are a Laroche," Aurélie said simply, ears perked towards the table the two military men had sat.

One of the guys chuckled, "I swear, he's had Katherine digging up anything and everything about them that she can."
The other laughed, "And the commander himself has been having them under servielence for a while now. I'd have to say I sure hope I don't end up on the wrong side of them, they could rip us to peices."
The first nodded, "Well, at least it's nice to get out of the base every now and then. Gets kinda stuffy in there."
"Hoo-rah."

"Maybe, but..." The wolf girl's ears perked towards the men as well. "Why are you so interested in them?"

"A couple hours ago, we ran into a weird human. I got a feeling these guys are in league with him."

"Look at their shoulders," the dog murmured. "It is the same insignia."

Nova sighed, relaxing in his seat. "Look, he didn't cause trouble, so we shouldn't. As long as they're quiet, so are we."

"Mm..." She turned back to Crescent. "Anyway, would you like to learn?"

"Can you believe this world though?" asked the first in a low tone, in an attempt to make sure no one overheard, "Ever since we got here, I've been seeing some rather amazing things."

The second nodded his voice low to match his comrade's, "Just when you think you've seen everything, life throws us this neat little curve-ball. This planet is amazing, the eggheads in R&D were walking on air when the Commander gave them the green light to develop ways to neutrilize the Mobian's special abilities."

"Hope they figure it out soon, I'm getting tired of sniping all our marks."

"Tell me about, a few more jobs and I'll be as proficient in snipers as the Commander is."

The first gave the second an incredulous look, "Dude, you're a hundred years too early to even be joking about that. No way in hell you can out-snipe a sparton."

The second let off an awkward chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck, "Heh, good point."

The knife fell through the table and clattered on the floor. "Mon dieu," she murmured.

Nova's eyes narrowed as he heard this last bit of their conversation. Neutralize Mobian abilities? What were they planning?...

Crescent didn't like the sound of that. "Why would they want to do that? Are they 'unting us for some reason?"

"Leave 'em be for now. We'll find out soon enough."

The first blinked, "Sir? Wha-? Oh...oh shit...sorry sir. Didn't know they were here..."

The second chuckled, well, halfway chuckled before it trailed off to a scarred 'eep'.

The first's eyes widened, "Really? Ok sir, will do." He got up and walked over to Nova & co's table, then proceded to take a small earpiece from his ear and hand to Nova before heading back to his own table, looking rather nervous.

The dog lifted a brow. "Listen."

Nova stared at the given earpiece for a moment, then slipped it into his ear.

His voice was calm, cool, and all business. "Hello Nova, I appologize for my subbordinates' idiocy. I explicitly told them to not discuss such private matters in such a public location."

"Well, it ain't private anymore," the wolf responded, using his badass tone. "Now, you better be aimin' that R&D pet project at the psychos on this planet, and not us."

Aurélie smiled. She wasn't sure if she preferred him this side of him or the one he'd shown her the past few days. Both, to her, were Nova. And she rather liked the wolf...

He spoke with mild amusement in his tone. "Are you trying to be intimidating? I assure you, it is not working. Though I must give you credit for acting as strong as you are."

"Does it matter? Now get to the point! What the hell are you plannin'?"

Crescent smirked. This was a side of Nova she knew all too well. It'll be that much more fun getting to know him as Emile Baudoin... if he changes any.

"Planning? Nothing at all. I merely need a way to neutrilize your kind's powers to even the playing field so that our actual soldiers can get some excercise and our snipers can get some rest."

"You think we like being used as target practice or punching bags? Why are you using our planet as some training grounds for your soldiers?"

He chuckled, "What do you mean? We're merely just another group of mercs and bounty hunters, but in a more military form. We just seek to...expand our reach."
