She smiled. "I find it interesting that you would agree to take me for only my name. Not 'oo I am or what I am 'ere to do." Her smile changed, relaxed. "I enjoy men 'oo are interesting."

He scoffed. "Interestin' doesn't exactly say it." He could feel his very soul freeze as his mind wandered too far into the past... Get the Hell outta there... "Besides, talk is cheap."

"You must 'ave a good story to tell." She licked the back of his ear.

Again, he had to force his blush down with all his might. "...Maybe later. We're here." He stopped in front of a dodgy... check that, downright forsaken-looking place.

"So this is it? I was expecting something more... hmm..." She slid off of his back, smiling. "Are you going to come inside or are you, per'aps, frightened?"

He gave the girl a bored expression. "Now how would I look, letting a pretty face, like yours, slip in here unattended?" He decided to lead the way inside.

With a bright, airy laugh, she followed him in. The laugh caused most of the bar to come to a stand still. In one area, a man had stopped mid-punch, an already unconscious fellow in his clutches.

As if the place was a cafe, Aurélie sidled up to the bar and smiled sweetly at the bartender. "Bonjour. Some Chardonnay if you do not mind."

[You can handle him, lol]

Nova took a seat next to her. "Tanqueray, if ya don't mind." He eyed the bartender with authority.

He spit into a glass, not bothering to wipe it out, and poured a glass of something that definitely wasn't Chardonnay, then poured the same thing into a similarly spit-in glass. He slapped them onto the bar in front of the two of them and went back to the cash register.

The dog smiled, swirling the drink she had no intention of consuming. "Charmant."

"Yeah, a real Romeo." He reached into his vest, pulling out two flasks, one with a silver top, the other black. "You have good tastes, miss Aurélie. Can't seem to find anyone who likes a good Chardonnay." He held the silver-capped one in front of her. "And don't worry. It's perfectly clean."

She smiled widely, taking the offered flask. "Merci." She uncapped it and took a drink, trailed her fingers over his arm. "I must say that I enjoy the way you say my name, Nova. You are... very masculine."

She heard a voice, but her expression didn't change. In fact, the only part of her that moved was her ears. They perked curiously and she flicked her gaze towards the voice.

It was a weasel. Dark brown, scruffy fur. Golden eyes. He was exactly who she was looking for. "Mm..." She turned on the barstool, openly gazing at the weasel.

He took one look at her and smirked, walking over. The pool stick he'd just stabbed someone in the eye with remained in his hand. "Well, hello."

"Salut," she cooed. "Smear, this is Nova. 'E is 'ere to make sure you do nothing... rash."

The weasel's smile became just a little evil and, in a moment's time, he and the dog were gone, the contents of the flask spilling onto the floor.

Once again looking only mildly surprised, he shook his head, grabbing his flask, and placing it back in his vest, along with the other, unopened one. "What a waste."

As he got up to leave, he noticed something a little off. Reaching into his pants pocket, he pulled out a slip of paper, which had, what looked like, an address on it. "...Huh. Maybe not."

Storing it back into his pocket, he made for the door. For a "forsaken" place, it wasn't so bad... at least not with her around.

Aurélie...

Kale looked over at his friend. "You thirsty? I know a place I gotta go to... It's not exactly the cleanest little bar, but there's a guy I gotta go after. Pretty dangerous. Ever heard of a guy named Smear?"

[This may be crazy, but I'm thinking that just 'cause they're both French, Psyche and Aurélie could have a (non-romantic of course) relationship.]

[lol. Okay, sure. And with Kale after Smear as well, Aurélie isn't going to like him trying to stake her claim. She's an assassin, professionally trained. I'll actually put her stats up later, lol]

With a relaxing sigh, Cross nodded. "Nova's mentioned that name once or twice. He's supposed to be some big game to bounty hunters. With his luck, he probably bumped into him in my absence."

[Don't forget about Nova. He does quite a bit of bounty hunting himself. I'll have to fix that in his profile.]

The dog smiled, leaned back in a chair. She was swinging a chain that had held her to it, waiting for the weasel to re-enter the room. He could be fast when he wanted to be, but only for short periods of time. Just as the reports had said.

The reports had also said that he liked women a little too much. The fact that her dress was barely clinging to her body was plenty proof at that. He was just lucky he hadn't removed it fully or she would have broken free then and there and.... destroyed him. But she wouldn't get paid unless he was alive, so...

She smiled to herself, wondering how long it would be before the wolf came to "rescue" her. It would be fun, seeing his expression. For that alone, she intended to give him half the cut. Unless, of course, he preferred other means of payment.

Her smile became wicked. Perhaps if he remained interesting, she would give him both.

Nova skidded to a stop in front of a building, the indicated address. He had a couple of minor scratches from the bar brawl they forced on him back at the Witch Hut, but nothing major. In fact, he felt at his peak at the moment.

Right away, he recognized the area: across the street was a building owned by one of Cross's friends. But his attention was focused on the building in front of him.

What the hell did I get myself wrapped up in? he reflected. A smile formed along his features, a cocky, yet obviously excited smile. "The time of my life," he voiced aloud. With that, he opened the door of the building, paying no heed that it was, in fact, unlocked, and headed inside.

The dog looked up, eyes narrowing slightly. Whatever footsteps these were... They weren't Smear. She got to her feet, growling slightly. Had that bastard just left?! "Mon dieu!" she snapped. If he was no longer in the building, she'd been tricked! And, worse, insulted!

Nova's ears perked up. "Mon dieu?" he repeated quietly, then recognized the voice. "Aurélie!?" he called out. Whatever happened, he could tell that she was not happy...

She walked out, swinging the chain still. "I knew it," she muttered, and strode past him. "'E isn't 'ere anymore."

"Smear's gone?" he asked, turning to her. "Damn!"

"Exactement." She dropped the chains with a loud thud and put her hands on her hips. Her dress was mostly tatters, a scowl on her face.

"If only I'd got here sooner..." He banged his fist into a nearby wall, when his ears suddenly perked up. "Wait..."

"What?"
