For a moment, he did nothing. Then, he hit the wall again, his ears moving as well, as if tracking an alien sound. "He's still here."

"Good." She slid past him, going towards the stairs.

He followed closely by her side, ready to step in if they get ambushed.

She made her way up, a blade spinning between her fingers. "You got 'ere quickly," she mused, sending a smile his way.

"Not as quick as I woulda liked. The barkeep wanted a problem." He cracked his knuckles, the sound reverberating though the quiet building. "...Second door on the right."

Smiling, she went to the side of the door and pushed it open. There was a bang and the wall splintered just at the side of her head.

"You brought your friend along, Aurélie?"

She frowned. So the weasel was going to be harder to capture than she'd expected...

Nova grinned, an excited gleam in his eyes. "Nah, I just decided to tag along. Now, how 'bout we get this show on the road?"

He looked over the wolf, a slight smile quirking his lips. "You're that bounty hunter I've heard oh, so much about. Aurélie, darling, I thought you worked alone."

"'E is nice to look at." She tossed a blade at him, aiming for his heart. He was suddenly behind her, the knife going into the wall.

Nova tossed a massive punch to the weasel's head, enough force to obliterate stone.

He moved to the side, bringing the dog with him. "Now, now, wouldn't want to hurt something so pretty." He shoved her at the wolf, but Aurélie got her footing quickly and spun, two more daggers going to the weasel. Those were dodged as well, Smear laughing now.

"Honestly," Nova said, a hint of boredom in his voice. "Do you have a death wish, or somethin'?"

"You're the ones who have yet to touch me," he pointed out.

"So you don't notice the gash on your neck, huh?" He casually twirled a dagger in his hand.

The dog laughed. "Impressive."

The weasel put his hand to his neck and, eyes narrowing, was gone.

Nova smirked. "He won't make it far. Three, four blocks, tops. And if he tries that little speed trick again..."

"Following 'im will not be 'ard." She smiled. "So you're even better than I thought you would be."

Kale gasped, looking at a panel on the back of the seat in front of him. 'I just lost Smear's signal... That only happens if he removes the tracker or... Dies. Who the fuck took my bounty?!"

"Gotta pay the bills, y'know?" With a small flourish, he handed the dagger back to her. "Now, let's grab him before he decides to burn the reward money."

Cross sighed, shaking his head. "Looks like Nova had an adventure of his own. I mentioned he's a bounty hunter, right?"

[There's no way we're killing Smear that easily XD We'll say the tracker's in his neck.]

The weasel felt something in the wound he was pressing against, and yanked it out. A... A tracker. His eyes narrowed. Who in hell...?

She smiled and licked his lips. "Lead the way," she cooed.

By this point, he had gotten used to it. "But, of course, Madmoiselle," he said in a surprisingly good French accent, and led the way back down the stairs.

Lifting a brow, she trailed after him. Very, very interesting...

Kale muttered something under his breath. "Alright... We'd better at least see what happened. Pysche, if you would." They took off at a speed that was most certainly over the speed limit towards the place where the tracker had gone dark.

Smear, scowling darkly, fled the area. He knew where to go in order to get healed quickly...

Back outside, Nova easily found the blood trail Smear left. "Looks like he's headed back to the Witch Hut." He then shook his head. "Uless he's already sutured the wound-highly unlikely-he'll never make it."

Cross raised an eyebrow at the name of the driver. "Psyche? As in the famous French spy?"

"Per'aps... And if 'e doesn't, there is no money to be 'ad."
