PotH: Revolution [PART 3] (NSFW)

She nuzzled him softly, sighing.

"...We all need some rest," he said finally. "You must be exhausted."

"Kind of..."

"Yeah... Oh, man. What am I gonna do with myself?"

She looked slightly taken aback. "I... What do you mean?"

"I mean... I've never really given much thought to what I want to do in life. But when I was out there..."

"I thought you didn't want to do bounty hunting or anything like that..."

"I know... But I don't know what else I can do..."

But they were moving in together and he'd always promised he wouldn't do anything like that... He'd always argued with his father because he hadn't wanted to hunt...

If he was going back on that now, what was the point? She looked down, sniffled. And how was she supposed to ask him all of that when his father was about to die?

"...Lyra." He tilted her head back to face him. "I'm telling you because I need your help. I said I'm staying away from bounty hunting, and I'm living by that promise. I need to find something I can do other than that, but I can't do it alone. Please... will you help me?"

She nodded, hugging him tightly. "Okay... I love you."

He returned the embrace in kind. "I love you, too."

"I just don't want you to be away from me..."

"I know. I'm not going anywhere..."

She licked him softly, pressing close. "Okay."

In only about five hours, the ship landed in Cross's front yard. Not destroying it for once. The back hatch opened and Akira stepped out, helmet under arm. "Told ya these models were faster." She said with a grin.

Sol stepped out, stretched. "Ah, home, sweet USA!"

Zavier and Dawn followed. "Good to be back in the States!... Holy shit! What happened here?!"

They finally noticed that the house was quite the mess. "Looks like they had some action here, after all," Dusk said.

"Mm... What made you guess that?" Star smiled, leaned against the doorjamb. "That is a loud ship. You woke the babies."

"Babies?!" Aurora sped into the house, grinning widely.

"The best way to be stealthy? Fly sub-sonic, sorry fuzzy, we wanted to get here quick."

Sol just shook his head, strode for the house. "I thought the kids weren't due for another couple of months."

"They weren't," Mani clarified. "Not for another two, at least. But with all the action that hit, anything goes."

"In other words, we get to see our grandchildren a little early."

"Yeah. They all came early - all the stress. But, Mani, you should've seen how well Luna did." She smiled. "She was great."

The hedgecat glanced back at Z. "Your parents reached a new low."

"Naw, I wouldn't say that." Sunny snickered. "Broke a new record, is all."

Zavier grinned. "Lemme guess: stuck it to that Filch guy, then did it in front of his rottin' corpse." Dawn made a disgusted face, as did several others, but didn't say anything.

"Bullseye, kid," Briggs said, smirking.

"S'all I wanna know." He slid by his parents, Dawn silently thanking him.

"Um... ew?"

Sunny snickered. "To each their own. Anyway, the kids are cute and shit. Let's go."

Armande frowned. "What about... the other one?"

Sunny growled softly. "Bitch got away again..."

Shine sighed. "Shoot. So it's not over yet, huh?"

"Who cares?" Elesis pounded her fists together. "Now that we're back, he's outnumbered and outgunned. What little of Henri's forces are left are gonna be swept up by Zidane. There's no way he can come to us without an army behind his back!"

Akira couphed, and something that sounded like 'Murphy's Law' could be heard admist the coughing.
