Sonic 2 Novelization
O hai thar. :3
I've decided that since I've done no solo writing
recently, I'd try to phase myself back in with a plot that's already
been established. I'm going to write Sonic 2, my favorite game, as if
it were a book instead of a game. I've just completed the first
chapter. What do you think, before I release it to Fanfiction.Net?

Mobian citizens laughed and cheered as their new hero, a blue hedgehog by the name of Sonic, rushed by in an azure blur. He had just saved the entire planet from a mad scientist named Doctor Robotnik, and not a single inhabitant of Mobius could say that it was anything less than an amazing feat.
Sonic was happy as well… But not quite as much so. He had plenty of friends and he was doing what was right, and that made him feel good, sure. But he felt he was missing something. He was tired after the long adventure and knew that Robotnik could try anything at any time, considering how fast he’d built those machines. He couldn’t take him down again, so soon after his first adventure. No, he needed a sidekick. But brave friends don’t just fall out of the sky, he thought, still running. Looking to his left to wave to the crowd, he tripped and crashed into a tree, shaking it violently. He tumbled to the ground, slightly dazed, and of all people a fox dropped out of the tree. They both got up, and Sonic apologized to the fox.
“Sorry about that. Say, err… What’s a fox doing up in a tree?” As he spoke, some Flickies chirped angrily down at the young kitsune.
“I’m just trying to find my family.” His tails waved behind him curiously. It was then that Sonic realized this wasn’t just a confused kid – He thought about it again. His tails were waving behind him curiously. This young kit had two tails!
“You mean to say you have no family?”
“None at all. What’s your name?”
“I-I’m Sonic. What’s yours, little buddy?”
The fox wrinkled his nose as if he’d smelled something disgusting. “It’s Miles. But I hate it. And my other
name’s no good either. All the bullies call me ‘Tails.’”
“Tails, huh? I don’t think it’s that bad,” the hedgehog replied. “In fact, I kinda like it. You can tell the bullies to shove it.” He laughed heartily. “Say, kid, uh, Tails… Do you mind if I call you that?” Tails shook his head. “Tails, how’d you like to stay with me for a while?”
The young fox’s eyes lit up. “You really mean it?” Sonic shook his head. “Wow! Thanks so much, Sonic!”
They now walked down the road as opposed to running, though the child looked plenty fit, he was also dirty and looked like he desperately needed a meal. “We’ll never get there at this pace,” he told his new friend. Tails smiled. “No, you’re probably right.” With that, he began doing something bizzarre. He spun his two tails as propellors, and actually lifted himself off the ground! Sonic laughed, amazed. “Wow! That’s, uh, that’s quite a feat right there!” The little kit blushed.
“Thanks. Watch this!” With that, he took off at an amazing speed, and Sonic almost had to try to keep up with him.
Sonic laughed quietly to himself.
I think I’ve found my sidekick.

Re: Sonic 2 Novelization
Eh... I'll work on it.
I'm trying to make him talk like Retro Sonic, you know, "Way past cool, cheed" and all that.

Re: Sonic 2 Novelization
Not too bad, though I always figured it was Sonic that came up with the name.
Oh well.
Oh well.
Re: Sonic 2 Novelization
He did, actually, according to Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog. But I didn't want to TOTALLY copy that scene, although that's where most the inspiration came from.
Re: Sonic 2 Novelization
Hm... Wow, I just remembered I wrote this. Should I continue it? I've been looking for inspiration and I guess this'd be a decent place to start.
