[You usually are the one to start... And can we just adapt existing OCs for a medieval time? I'm pretty sure none of us have specifically medieval OCs.]
Re: Sonic RP III
Yeah, of course you can just adapt your OCs to a medival time.

[Alright. Also when speaking out of character put it in square brackets like this.
Err... Not quite sure where to start. Care to kick it off?]

[Alright.]
Kirin snored a bit louder as he rolled over ontop of his roof. It was about sunset and he was taking his daily 3 o' clock nap. The day animals were settling down, and the crickets of the nightime were about to start singing their constant songs.

Re: Sonic RP III
Horace's right hand works the bellows of the forge as his left holds a pair of tongs, which is in turn holding a spongy piece of iron. A customer has ordered a stronger plow, one that can dig deep enough to plant turnips, and Horace needs to make a fairly large billet to pound into a sheet. Really, Horace is the only reason the village can exist. Otherwise, nobody would be able to obtain horseshoes, plows, axes, spoon drills, hammers, nails, hinges, axle holders, or any other iron part that one would need to conduct one's business.

Re: Sonic RP III
One of Kirin's golden eyes slowly opened and he sat up on his roof. His house was just outside of a nearby village, located not to far off in the forest that engulfed the village. It was like a big-japaneese dojo, with sliding paper doors and a large pond, a large gate of rocks surronding the entire property. This house was built about a year after the village down the road was founded, Kirin's great-grandfather the original owner.
The hedgehogwolf stood up and brushed off his ever-present black kimono, tightened his belt and graciously glided down to the ground.
"Time for work."

[Hey, friendly reminder you guys. This will be deleted next Tuesday unless it gets posts.]
Re: Sonic RP III
[And a little tip: Neither of you left it very open. Try to attach "hooks" that help other people participate; don't end every post with "BUT THEN..." but definitely don't end it with someone sitting on a roof.]
Re: Sonic RP III
((Anybody can come into Horace's shop and order something. As long as Horace is there, the shop is open, and he lives there...))
Horace now takes the spongy piece of iron and hammers it flat, then brushes the impurity scale off of it. The door opens, which Horace notices right away. A small, purple hedgehog girl walks in; she's there constantly, as sort of an apprentice, but she's also a thinker.
"Oh, hey Megan. I think I'll need your help pounding this block out to a sheet."

A brown hedgefox then walked in. "I need a sword. Nothing too heavy, but nothing light, either."
Re: Sonic RP III
"Oh... the swordsmith his just right down the way; I'm a blacksmith. Unfortunately, I can't make swords. I could make you an axe or a knife though."
Megan just rolls her eyes.
((Only a swordsmith has the skills to make a decent sword. Blacksmiths are more generalists, making utilitarian items such as tools, gates, horseshoes, and hardware))

Re: Sonic RP III
"Hmm... How big a knife can you make? Around six inches work for you? I need a dagg-I mean, uh, an... All-purpose knife. Yeah, let's go with that..."
Re: Sonic RP III
"Well, it won't be a real, um... fine dagger, or um, knife, but I can start on it here soon."
Horace heats the slug of steel up again for more shaping. This piece will actually be a rivet to hold the plow on the wooden frame.

"Probably shouldn't take more than a few days if all goes right."
Horace then takes the piece of iron out of the forge and places a round die over the square hole on his anvil, then places the bar over, and drives it through with his hammer.

Re: Sonic RP III
Now that the rivet has been made, Horace reheats it in the forge as Megan fetches the rivet die: a round iron cylinder with a dome pounded into one end. On person holds it as another drives the rivet into it, forming the other head. Horace pulls the rivet out and places it in the hole between the end of the plow and the frame, then takes the rivet die. Megan then takes a sledgehammer while Horace kneels down to hold the die against the other end of the rivet.
"Go." Megan brings the heavy sledgehammer back, and swings it hard into her end of the rivet. Horace is able to hold the die cleanly against the metal, and one hit is all it takes.
"It's a little loose, but it'll tighten as it cools," Horace says as he gives the plow a firm shake.

Re: Sonic RP III
((I don't understand exactly why past instead of present tense, but okay...))
"Well, that's done," Horace said to Megan, "Now I know you came in here for a reason."
Megan reached into a bag on her hip, and pulled out a little device. It had a wheel on one end, a straight stick connecting the wheel to a disc inside a tube. there was another lever on it that moved another rod in a smaller tube, and a straw stuck out of the top. When Megan moved the wheel so the rod was on the bottom, and blew into the straw, the rods moved back and forth, turning the wheel. Most others probably would have looked at it as a mere toy, but Horace saw something different as soon as he saw it in action, as did Megan.
"How in the hell... did you..."
Megan then produced drawings for medical syringes and Hero of Alexandria's steam ball.
((If you watch Ancient Discoveries at all, you would wonder why things like this weren't invented sooner))

Re: Sonic RP III
[Yeah, honestly I don't see it going anywhere. If you can get it along then that's fine but from where I'm standing it's dead. Sorry.]
