"Yeah, I fucking noticed," she grumbled.

He sniffled, clinging to the echidna. "Okay..."

"Yeah, well, let's change that, at least for the biofoam."

He sighed heavily. "I'm sorry I couldn't do the same for your mom."

The first shrugged, "Alright, R&D is this way." He walked off.

The second smirked, "Nice meeting you Sunny."

"When you get her back you will be." He looked up. "Right?"

"Yeah. See you fuckers later." She hopped off the stretcher, let her legs adjust a moment and strode out, whistling.

He looked into his eyes with sharply determined ones. "Yes, I will."

She smirked at Sunny. She was so easy-going with these guys. Not like her; all she's been doing was arguing with them. With a sigh, she followed the medic to the R&D area. Maybe she should lighten up a little...

He burrowed close again, reassured by that. Sunny walked over, pausing to lean against the side of one of their wild looking crafts. She caught Cross's eye, saluted.

Cross smiled at her, returned the salute. "Take a look at Sunny: good as new."

He looked over and she grinned. "Hey, squirt."

He smiled, cheek resting on Cross's chest. His eyes were starting to close. "Hi, Sunny."

He looked at the fox, smiled. "Looks like you're overdue for a nap, Trip."

He yawned, pressing close to the echidna. "I'm tired..."

"He ain't the only one." Sunny tucked her hands in her pockets, looking around. "So where the hell are we?"

He rose, bringing the tired kit with him. "One of Shadow Squad's bases. For obvious reasons, I don't know exactly."

"Okay. So those Frenchies are after you guys, huh? Star said they were after Amile, who I'm thinking is Crescent, Kane, and Aurélie. She also said that she thinks there's a fourth person, but she couldn't tell if they were just saying Amile again or... Emile."

He nodded. "It's the latter. Emile is Nova. They're all rogues from their families, and they're being hunted for it."

"Yeah, I already knew about Nova. Star didn't; I wasn't sure if you did. So what are you gonna do?"

"I'm gonna save her tail. Then, I'm gonna clear my friend's name."

"Good to know. So where can I crash? You know? I'm gonna need to catch some sleep to be any help to you when you go get her."

"Dorms are this way. We have a little wing all to ourselves." He started off to the barracks. "This is getting out of hand."

"What? The whole French guys attacking? Yeah, I'd think so."

"It's more than that. When they had kidnapped Elesis and Yue, it looked like one of them was about to..." He trailed of, looking to the fox in his arms. It was bad enough he went down that road before... "The sooner we take care of this, the better."

"To Elesis? Shit..."

He sighed. "I'm not gonna let that happen to anyone, least of all Star."

Sunny sighed. "Man..." She ruffled the sleeping kit's fur. "This is so messed up..."

"I hate to think of how Nova's taking it, always getting over the wrong reasons."

Sunny shook her head. "He'll cope and s'long as everyone's okay in the end, he'll be fine. Heard he's got two brats."

He nodded. "Mani delivered them, herself. Aurora and D'Artagnan, Dart for short."
