"That won't work forever." Shadow said. Echo turned to Sunny.

"I think we can do something else. But it is highly illegal."

"We've got a female half-breed inside a school! What could be more illegal?"

Echo ran to Vir's desk and pulled out some paper.

"Falsifying a will stating that the strongest knight will inherit the principal position?"

"Do it."

Star's eyes went wide. They couldn't!

Luckily in Troy a man was able to, in his will, name his succesor if he had an important job. This is the same law that inadvertantly caused Echo and Shadow's father to become a guardian of the master emerald.

"Done." Echo said after a short time. He then signed it and sealed it with Vir's seal.

"NOw to put it in a drawer and hide her." He pointed to Shadow.

"Chaos control her to the top of the southern tower." He nodded and picked Star up in his arms.

Sunny put a blanket over the hedgecat, frowning. "Keep her warm."

"I will." Shadow said, before dissappearing.

Echo was sitting next to Sunny in the field of dirt waiting for the announcement. An old echidna came by.

"Vir Cotto was found dead of a heart attack earlier today." There was an uproar of grief form the crowd.

"In his last will and testament he left control of the school to the strongest of its graduates." Suddenly 10 score of echidnas entered the field; all knights.

"A battle royal will decide." Echo got up.

"YOu should leave Sunny. You havent graduated yet." He said, getting into a fight stance. The old Echidna scowled, forgetting hsi curtesy.

"Will no one rid us of this trubulent hedgehog!?" He blared. They charged.

Shadow rubbed Star's head, singing to her.

[Ooh, Red Shirt slaughter, can I play?]

[sure. I was expecting you to come back before. But the timeskip to just before the trojan war is comming soon. You'll like that I expect.]

Sunny frowned. She looked every bit the boy, so kept her voice quiet. "I'll stay and watch. Good luck, Echo."

Star snuggled close despite herself, listening.

Echo smiled euphorically and slapped Sunny's back, absorbing her earth ability.

"Thanks." He stood up and readied two rck spears.

"WHO WANTS SOME!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" He blared, swinging them like a lunatic.

The dog smiled slightly, adjusted her cap and leaned back to enjoy the show.

Star began to purr softly. "Shadow... Truly, why are you so kind to me?"

Two echidnas charged from the crowd and rushed Echo with a loud war-cry, fists primed for attack.

[I'm assuming they don't have weapons? Or do they have swords?]

Echo bent over backwards, allowing them to hti eachother.

[they may or may not have weapons.]

The two grunted and knocked each other out while three more echidnas tried to flank Echo. These ones all had spears.

Sunny, without making a move, made their spears flimsy and brittle.

Star gazed at him, eyes wide. "You... You do?"

They froze in their tracks and stared at one another.

[Rule of Red Shirts 1: They're not supposed to talk.]

Echo wacked them in the middle of their faces with his rock spears, looking over at Sunny and smiling.
