They groaned and fell over with a dull thud.

"Power in numbers!" one of them shouted, and all at once ten echidnas rushed toward him.

[MY mom is a huge fan. She even has a collection of memorabilia.]

"I know. And to be honest...I really don't care..."

Echo pulled out his sword and smashed it into the ground. Dozens of rock arrows began firing at the ten echidnas' armor.

[Don't want too much blood here. These are my knights.]

"I... I love you, too," she whispered.

Sunny smiled, watching. Not the arrows, but the hedgehog. He was so... amazing.

[They're red shirts all the same, don't grow too attached to them. I mean, it's either them or your precious OCs.]

Several arrows chinked off of the armor, but more often then not they scored a direct hit on some place that inevitably ended their lives.

Quiet, nervous chattering spread throughout the remaining knights. This time nearly thirty of them tried to flank him, ten in front and ten on either side.

[That's 2 out of 10 score right there, assuming they all die. This might take a while unless I pull something ridiculous like a suicide attack.]

Echo decided there were enough dead knights. He withdrew his sword and began to draw a circle in the earth around him.

Shadow smiled and kissed her cheek, now wanting to contract the disease.

Sunny's smile widened slightly as she watched.

She held her breath until he drew back and then smiled.

Once Echo had finished the circle he tapped it and an earthquake shook up all the rest of the knights, knocking them down and ripping up the field.

Shadow smiled back.

"We'll make it work."

Sunny got to her feet, tail wagging. That had to have done it!

"How?" she whispered.

Echo looked around to see if any were still up.

"We'll think of something...."

Several of the knights tried to get themselves on their feet, but collapsed on their wobbly hands and passed out. Echo had won.

Sunny didn't see any, so walked up. Instead of throwing her arms around him as she wanted, she clapped a hand on his shoulder. "It seems to me that you're the president."

"Okay," she murmured, tears spilling over.

Shadow wiped up her tears.

Echo put an arm around her in a guy-fashion.

"Yup." The old echidna walked onto the field.

"Your life will not be a good one now. There are those who will see to that."

"You and yours can eat cock and die. Give me what i've won." He growled ad handed Echo the septer.

The hedgecat pressed her face into his chest, trembling. "I'm scared, Shadow."

Sunny sneered. "Good. So let's go."

"Yeah." Echo said, going to the southern tower.

"I'm right here. And I always will be..." He said soothingly.

Sunny strode with him, hugging him tightly as soon as she could. "Great job!"

"If anyone finds out about us, we'll both be killed..."

He laughed and put an arm around her.

"Thanks, although....I'm pretty sure I saw you helping.."

"I'lkl make sure that doesn't happen. Even if we have to move to Crete we'll be together."

She shrugged. "Nothin' you can prove."

She hugged him as tightly as she could, purring. "Okay."

He smirked and kissed her cheek, making sure no one could see.

He hugged her back.

"I like it when you purr. IT's cute."

She barely bit back the blush. "You're welcome," she muttered.

The hedgecat blushed, burrowing her face into his chest. "I'm feeling much better now."

Echo laughed as they made it to the tower and he lifted a rock which elevated them to the top.

Shadow blushed madly and put his face into her hair.

Sunny saw them pressed together and grinned. "Cute," she decided.

Star cuddled closer, purring.

"Yeah..." Echo closed the door.

"Let's give them a moment."

Shadow put a hand over her hair and began scratching behind her ears.

Sunny leaned against the wall, studying him. "What do we do now, Echo?"

She purred a bit louder, content to be so close.

"Not sure. We could do what they're doing....but we might get caught."

She frowned and removed her hat, letting her hair fall. "I can't do anything with an education anyway," she pointed out and pounced, pressing her mouth to his.
