"It's okay." Sunny smiled, cuddling the girl. "A friend of your uncle's took care of everything."

"A friend?" she asked, wondering who else was her uncle's "friend" besides the one man that he kept going on about.

"His name's Leon. Do you know anybody like that?"

Star blinked. "Are you... Are you serious?"

"Uncle Strife never mentioned him," she immediately replied.

He checked them all and said, "Dead serious. Each one downed with one shot, to the head, each time. They never stood a chance."

"Well, I met him. He's cool."

"Wow..." The hedgecat shook her head. "Come on inside."

Sophie said, "Hope so." she snuggled into Sunny for protection.

Riku walked to the front door and said, "Yeah, inside."

Sunny nuzzled the girl gently, looking up when she heard someone call her name. "Star?"

"Yes! Get down here!"

Sunny changed her hold on the kit, making it more casual before starting down the stairs.

Leon had patched himself up and came in, looking at the newcomers. "I...suppose you're rather impressed with what I managed to do, saving everyone else here," he said with a smirk.

Riku turned to him and asked, "Well who the hell are you?!"

"Name's Leon," the wolf replied.

Star frowned. "Impressed wouldn't exactly be the right word..."

"Hey, you don't have to be impressed, but you should at the very least be rather thankful. Had it not been for me showing up and dealing with them, Cloud might have been very heavily injured or gone, the other canine would possibly be very wounded or captured and bound up with special bonds and used for their pleasure, and the girl would most likely be dead," Leon said in a rather cold tone.

"Sunny was here," she said with a shrug. "They would've been fine."

"That all depends, miss. You should at least be glad that I made the fucking effort-" Leon started before Riku said, "You shut up. You didn't do anything besides murder people that didn't need to be killed off."

"Ya know, we could get into a massive argument over this. I'm actually very thankful that he came along, and yet here you two are, bitching that he just helped me, Sunny, and Sophie out a huge deal," Cloud growled from a corner.

"That's not what I-"

"Leave 'em alone," Sunny snapped. "How the hell should the react? 'Gee, thanks for putting a bunch of corpses outside a daycare'?" She scoffed. "Not likely." She passed Sophie over to Star and walked outside.

Star frowned, cuddling the little girl. "Hi, sweetie."

Riku glared dangerously at Cloud, who had seemed to back down. Sophie cuddled into Star, saying, "He was just helping...he saved us..."

Leon walked past and walked out the door, growling in pure anger as he left. "Some welcome I get for saving people," he muttered as he left.

Sunny stopped him. "Hang on a sec. You wanna know why they keep saying I could've handled things?"

"Yeah, it's because you have the ability to control the earth and could have smashed them all. So I'm not needed and this and that and the other fucking thing," he told her.

"Hang on; how'd you even know that?"

"I saw you come down from the building...I saw you raise the earth up, stand on it, and then come down," he replied.

"Oh, well... Yeah, I forgot bout that." She shrugged and the yard suddenly opened and the bodies fell into it before the yard smoothed back to normal. "But, look, I didn't even know they were out there. Something could've happened if you hadn't been here."

"Not from what those people think. You can tell them that I'm just not going to help them next time if they need any kind of aid," he told her as he began to leave again.

"What if Cloud needs you?"

"I'll help him still. I'll help you still," he told her. "But those two? If they can't be bothered to thank me at all and instead just blast me to hell because I dared litter bodies outside this place, then I don't see why I should help them again, because if that's all that they're going to do..."

"It's a daycare for kids in need... And Star wasn't blasting you for anything. She was just worried. They heard gunfire and panicked. Pretty natural reaction."

He looked at the sign and then bit his lip and said, "Then I would have thought to remove the bodies...I thought this was something else...should've payed more attention. But still, that white cat.."

"Riku? This is where his wife works and his kid comes every day. I'd wig out, too."
