"How's Katherine?" Star asked.

He gripped his hand, "A pleasure to see old friends. My apologies for dissapearing like that twenty years ago. Something...important came up. I can't go into detail, but lets just say that it was important that we had 'all hands on deck' so to speak." He looked over at Star, "She's doing fine, she had to take care of something back on the ship, so she couldn't come with me. Though she says 'Hi'."

"Hope that body's treating her okay," Cross said, Nova snickering.

Star rolled her eyes. "Aurélie, I think you keep Nova on too loose a leash..."

The dog smiled. "Per'aps."

"Like you weren't thinkin' it," Sunny pointed out, grinning.

"Shush."

He laughed, "I fulfilled a promise that was already ten years old at that time. Spent the next four days in our room. After all, ONI interupted us three days in that day."

"I'm sure you showed them a good time, if you know what I mean." Cross smirked.

"Yeah," Briggs said, smirking. "A good time in one of those elevators."

Sunny snorted. "Nice."

"You're all perverts." But Star's lips were twitching.

"Not what we meant, that time," Briggs said. "Those elevators on that super-ship - you weren't up there, Star - are fuckin' insane. Tossin' you around like a pinball, and some other shit we didn't see. I'd almost pity the poor soul that got thrown in that thing."

"Seriously, what the hell?"

"In fact, the elevators are fun. Pays to be the guy in charge." He had a smile on his face. "No one has the guts to do stop me."

Sunny scowled. "Jackass."

Briggs sneered. "You suck."

"Hey, I find it amusing. Can't tell you how many dark looks we got afterwards." He grinned, he loved this job...so much.

Star rolled her eyes. "You're idiots."

"Anyway," Cross said. "I hope you guys are ready for action. A lot's coming our way."

"Cross, we're always ready for a little action." He folded his arms across his chest, smirking.

Aurélie nodded. "Bonne. We'll need to know everything Danny knows about the Baudoins."

"They're very mean."

"They can be," Star corrected. "Not everyone in a group is as mean as the whole."

"The ones he showed me were very mean."

"I'm sure they were," Cross said, frowning. "Nova?"

"Unless the guy's immortal, Lord Baudoin should've died of old age, by now. But whatever's going on, it's got his name written all over it."

"Danny? Do you know any of their names?"

"No, he said that I had too good a memory. That I was stupid and would tell. I didn't have anyone to tell until now."

"Do you recognize the name... Geoff?"

"Yes! He died, though. He used to come see us all the time."

"So, the Baudoins are directly involved in this," Kane deduced.

"Roland, Constance," Nova said. "Do you recognize those names?"

"Um... He said them before, but said they weren't worth the time. They only wanted to keep their family safe."

Nova smiled slightly. "Well, that takes the edge off, a little."

"So," Cross asked. "Did somebody take Geoff's place? Do you know their name?"

"Yes. The wolf with the scar. And he wants to make the Baudoins fight. He's mad that most of them are working together with the others."

"The others? The Laroche. Per'aps we should 'ave paid a bit more attention to 'ow they would fare..."

"The Baudoins split into two halves, one following the Coward and the other one following the wolf I know."

"The Coward?" Cross repeated. "Do you mean Geoff?"

"No. The wolf always just called him a coward. He wanted to work with the others and does, but the wolf doesn't like that at all. He says they need to go back to the way things were."
