Zavier grinned, got to his feet. "Hell, yeah! Been waitin' to flex my skills for a while, now!"

Sirius smirked. "Well, you've got work cut out for you, on this one."

"Which reminds me, Sirius," Elesis said. "Have you been practicing?"

"Oh! Um, well..."

The echidna woman smirked. "Come on. You're with me, slacker."

"...Damn."

Lyra jumped up. "I'm coming, too!"

Aurélie sighed quietly. "Come along, Aurora. We 'ave work."

The dog nodded, tail wagging. "Ready!"

"Bonne. Nova?"

Pavo settled down in front of Danny, smiling. "I'm gonna sketch out the people you've seen, okay? You got a great memory, good eye for detail. You mind describing them for me, so I can draw them?"

The cat nodded, smiling. "Okay."

In her lap, Nat yawned and was lifted by Star. "Come on, big guy. Naptime."

"Grandma," he whined, another yawn escaping and was taken up the stairs.

Nova nodded. "I'm right behind you. Dart?"

Dart hesitated. He saw the cat, but had trouble looking away. "...I'll take a rain check."

"...Okay." Nova let it go. After all, like Armande and Shine, he was a hardened bounty hunter.

Luna sprang up. "Hey, Mom! I think I figured out some neat stuff you might wanna try!"

Mani smiled. "Really? Well, why don't you show me?" She got up, followed her daughter out the room.

It wasn't very long until the room was entirely deserted but for Pavo, Dart, and Danny.

Pavo turned his sketchbook towards her. "When you described the 'coward,' I sketched him out. Is that close?"

"His eyes were happier."

"Okay. Anything else?"

"He was smiling, it made his cheeks rounder."

"Okay." Going with that, he turned the page and started sketching again.

Danny looked up at Dart, smiling. "Hi."

"...Hey." Dart idly scratched behind his ear, sank into a nearby seat.

"How come you stayed?"

Pavo paused, drawing the sketchbook back. He was starting to actually recognize the guy... He got up and bolted - a rare speed for the lackadaisical dog.

Dart raised an eyebrow at the dog, but turned back to Danny. "I don't need training... Danny, right? I'm Dart."

She smiled. "Hi! I didn't like when I got trained. It was hard."

"Yeah, it can be, sometimes. You're a lucky girl, y'know?"

She cocked her head to the side. "Mew?"

"Star's genes. They enable a fortitude unlike most others. Had anyone else been your mother, you'd be dead, or at least have a broken spirit."

She purred softly. "I like her a whole lot. Which one's your mom?"

"Aurélie. She's the rogue Laroche."

"She was nice. You're part Baudoin. But you seem nice." She smiled. "Are you?"

He shrugged. "People seem to like me. I don't really notice."

"Okay. Do you like me?"

"...You seem likable. Your eyes are interesting."

"They make people afraid," she said quietly, looking down. "I don't mean to..."

"Aurora doesn't mind them. Neither does Luna... Neither do I."

She looked back up, eyes shy. "Really?"

He shrugged. "The history behind the eyes isn't my concern. Besides... gold fits you."

She smiled, moved over to sit at his feet. "Why?" she wondered, laying her head against his leg.

He blinked. This girl was so innocent, it was almost heartbreaking, knowing what she went through. However, his bored expression remained. "Why what? Why gold fits you?"

She nodded, purring. "Yes."

"Hm. I dunno. It seemed like a good thing to say."
