"...I guess you're right." He really had no intention of putting his kids on the front lines. Luna might be able to go, but Trip and Yue had three kids to look after. Danny had hers, and Shine was well into pregnancy. "I guess we need to get the team together. They're just as involved as we are."

She sighed, nodding. "I know... It's not absolutely ideal... Trip and Yue have their newborns, and so does Danny... But Aurélie went and fought right after Dart and Aurora were born... We need the rest of them... Z, Dawn, Dusk, Lyra, etc. But there's also no telling how many people we'd need..."

He sighed heavily. "And just when everyone got back... It's just like last time. We have to decide who's going, who's staying, and who's defending... I know I'm going, this time."

She nodded. "Okay. Danny and Dart are going, if she needs to show you the way rather than just point it out. I know Pavo would still probably be staying. He fights as well as I do... Actually, it may be split just about the same. Just I'll have Shine and Armande here instead if you, Dart, and Danny."

"Seems that way. Well, only way to know for sure is to have a meeting on it."

"Later on, okay? Let's give everyone a chance to settle a little."

"I know. I have no intention of putting them back out there, just yet."

She nodded. "Okay. Let's go see if our grandbabies are up." She purred, smiling. She had four. Four healthy, happy grandchildren.

He smiled, got to his feet, bringing her with him. "Sounds like a plan. We sure do seem to come across a lot of miracles, wouldn't you say?"

"Yes. And I'm holding out for a few more." Smiling, she hugged him.

"We're really gonna need them," he said, hugging back. "Now, let's go see our family."

Before the hedgecat could even open her mouth, Nat was in the room. "Babies smell," he announced.

And Star let out a delighted laugh. "Hooray diaper changing for us is long-finished."

"Agreed," Cross said, laughing. "Don't worry. Your folks will take care of it, quickly."

"I hope so. Donny didn't sleep in my room, so I don't know if she smells." He hugged his grandmother, inhaled. She always smelled pretty. "Auntie Danny's making pancakes. You guys slept forever!"

Cross blinked. It sure felt early. He laughed. "Well, we should get down there and help out."

Star laughed, hefting her grandson. "Come on, sweetie. Let's go make sure Auntie Danny doesn't burn the place down."

He giggled. "Okay!"

"Heh. Both Danny and Dart seem pretty competent in the kitchen. But just to make sure, come on." He started out the room.

Star followed after setting Nat down. He just seemed to get more and more independent as the days passed...

Everyone was growing up... It was wonderful.

She caught up to Cross, took his hand. "Love."

He smiled at her. "The little guy's growing up fast, huh?"

"Yeah. I feel like he's going faster than Shine did." She smiled, laying her head on his shoulder. "I kind of wish time would just slow down..."

He stroked her hair fondly. "Once we finish him off, maybe it finally will."

She purred softly. "If we're really lucky, maybe."

He smirked. "Just having Sever looming over us, let alone attacking us, is the worst luck ever; I think we're just about due for some incredible luck."

She giggled, licked his cheek. "Agreed."

He chuckled. "Come on, before Nat gets himself in more trouble."
