Trip grinned. "I guess. So what's been going on here? Any idea?"

"From what I've heard...just...shit. It ain't good. I'll do what I can to summarize everything I've just had the misfortune of hearing..." He did just that, too.

Once he finished, Akira stood there, wide-eyed, face white, and her jaw dropped. "N-not right..."

Trip shivered, looking down. So his sister had grown up in a crazy sort of hell and was clueless about how bad it was? In a small way, that was kind of a blessing. He'd known he was in hell...

He shuddered, pressing his face into Yue's hair.

Briggs nodded. "Good luck with that."

Yue's fist clenched. Hearing about her new sister-in-law was one thing, but the 4-year-old girl, sent home in a box...? "Just who do these bastards think they are?"

"Yeah." He frowned, closing the book. For the girl, he vowed and walked out.

Trip's hold tightened on her. And the girl... Jesus, what if it had been Nat?

Briggs' fist clenched tightly, his claws puncturing his palm. "Fuck..." He strode back to the computer, Sol at his heels.

She looked up, sprinted from the craft to the house.

Akira slammed her fist into the side of of the troop bay, growling, "People like that...they don't deserve to live."

"Agreed. Which is why we'll be taking part in this. I can't just let these folk have all the fun when it comes to eliminating these scum."

"I want to put round in that bastard's genetelia..."

"You and me both."

Trip went right after his wife, eyes wide. He had to see his - he skidded to a stop as he passed the living room, blinked. Dart was... No, no distractions. But... Was that really Dart...? Asleep with a girl in the middle of the day?

And considering the fact that he'd never seen her before, that had to be his sister. Huh...

Sighing, he shook his head, and took off up the stairs to find his son.

Nat had to be with Auntie Star. Yue bounded for room, wrenched the door open.

Trip skidded in after her, blowing out a relieved breath. Star looked up, smiled. "Oh, god, I was worried about you guys..." There were tears in her eyes, from her own thoughts - how could that bastard have killed a little girl? and if they were caught, how would she protect Nat? - and from the sheer relief of seeing them.

She had a hand on Nat's back, soothed by the steady rhythm of his breathing. Trip walked over and stroked his son's hair. "Damien explained everything..." he said quietly. "Mom..."

"I know..."

Yue walked over, stroked her son's back. "That poor girl..." she choked, tears flowing freely. It was only a matter of time before another innocent was taken by those psychos... And what if it was her Nat...?

Trip put an arm around her, trembling. "We'll make sure no one gets near him," he vowed. "No one will ever hurt my son."

She nodded, feeling the wind carry her tears away. "We'll make sure of it. We won't ever leave his side again."

Nat stirred, hearing their voices. His eyes opened slowly, latched onto his parents. "Mama! Dad! You're home!"

Trip smiled. "Yeah. How you doing, Nat?"

"I have a new aunt!" He sat up, yawning, and reached for his mother. "She's nice."

Yue took him into her arms, nuzzled softly. "That's good. I can't wait to meet her."

He purred, smiling. "Yeah! Did you catch lots of bad guys?"

Trip smiled, scratching his son behind the ear. "You bet we did."

"Yeah, but now it's all about you." She smiled, fighting back the tears. "We're gonna spend a lot of time together. I hope you don't mind."

He smiled. "Yeah! Me and Grandma had lots o' fun, but I missed you!" He snuggled, smiling widely.

"I missed you, too..." She brought the boys close, snuggled.

Trip kissed her softly and Nat squirmed. "Eeeww! Dad!"

The fox laughed into his wife's mouth, flooded with relief and love. As long as his family remained safe, everything was fine.

She laughed as well, digging a little deeper into the kiss.

Star smiled, rising to leave. Her children were safe and sound for now - all three of them. She just hoped things stayed that way as long as possible.

Nat groaned, squirming. "Why do you guys gotta kiss all the time?"

Trip looked down, moving only his eyes. "To torment you," he teased, lips moving against his wife's.

Yue looked down as well, smirked. "Gotta have a little fun," she mused against Trip's lips.

He nuzzled her softly, slipping Nat into his arms. "Maybe you're just jealous."

"No kissing!" he protested, squealing when Trip peppered his face with kisses.

Laughing, the fox held his son out. "Your turn."

"No! Mama, don't!"
