Zombie Bullshit

"Argh, which way do we go?" Kale shot at the Infected closest to him, approaching the fork quickly. "Not much time to decide if we wanna, you know, NOT get mauled by zombies!"

"I have no clue, but someone make the decision quickly!" Cruz said, slicing up an Infected. "Clock's tickin'!"

"Aw, this is beautiful!" Nova grumbled. What a choice: Horde or who-knows-what. He could navigate just fine underground, but it's almost a given that there's a Witch or two down there, or worse. But if they stay topside, they'll probably be overwhelmed by the Horde, or get into some trouble with another Tank. "Uh... Briggs?"

"Sewer!" Briggs shouted, blasting a group of Infected with his shotgun. "I can handle a couple Witches!"

"Fine! Everyone in! I'll close up!" Nova took up holding off the Infected with his submachine gun, and Briggs took off for the manhole.

"Roger that!" Cruz followed Briggs to the manhole.

Kale followed not far behind.

Finally, with everyone down, Nova jumped down the manhole, and with a wave of a hand, covered it with a steel plate. With an annoyed heave of breath, he massaged his neck. "So, any takers on what's next?"

The sewers were quiet. Empty and quiet, well, except for the distant echoes of a couple of witches crying, the place was deserted.

Cruz sighed. "Great. Witches. Can't say I didn't expect that."

"That can't be good..." Kale muttered. "Isn't there a way we could, like, avoid them for a change, and, you know, not get mauled half to death?"

"Can't even tell where they are," Briggs grumbled, ears straining to try to get some idea. "These caves are fuckin' with my ears; can't pin 'em down."

"Me neither... At least they're not on top of us. Well, let's see where our luck goes," he said, flicking on his flashlight, Briggs doing the same.

"I hate sewers..." Cruz muttered, flicking on his flashlight.

"I feel like I've heard someone else say that before," Kale responded, turning his own flashlight on as well.

"Just stay on me," Nova said, starting down a tunnel. "And you won't get dead but so fast."

"No complaints there. I ain't going solo, certainly not in the sewers..."

"I hear that..."

"Well, your our compass, Nova," Briggs said, following close behind his brother.

"Thanks, Briggs. No pressure..." He led the group through the tunnels, taking turns here and there, doing his best to avoid some of the more troublesome Infected in these dank sewers.

Directly in front of their one exit sits a foursome of witches. They're placed so that if one took out one of them, they'd startle all of them.

Kale cocked his head and muttered, "Oh joy, this oughta be fun... Okay, puzzle time, boys and girls. How do we get past these chicks?"

"First step: lights out," Briggs said, both he and Nova shutting their flashlights off. "They're alerted by it."

"Second: back away," Nova said. "We gotta think this one through."

"Roger that." Cruz immediately turned off his flashlight off and backed away.

Kale did the same.

Once safely tucked away, Nova looked everyone over. "Okay, so we a shotgun, two submachines, four pistols, four melees, a medkit, pills, adrenaline... what can we do with this stuff...?"

"I say we rush 'em with our melee weapons. They're gonna be all over our dicks anyway, might as well get up close and personal too, y'know?"

Briggs scoffed quietly. "You can Leroy Jenkins if you want, but don't expect the rest of us to follow."

"Wait..." Nova checked his stuff again... he still had his molotov cocktail from before. "Maybe I can burn 'em with the molotov, and bring up a wall before they get close."

"If you think you can do it. Not like we have any other sane plans."
