Meanwhile, Nova and Briggs restocked on their ammo. "So," Briggs started. "Think your crew's all right?"

"Probably," Nova said with a shrug. "They're a tough bunch."

"Huh?"

"The kid here's a merc," Briggs explained. "Got a little crew he usually rolls with."

"But I wasn't available when they last went off on the hunt," Nova continued. "Then everything went to hell. Wherever they are, I'm sure they're secure. Cross takes care of his own."

"I see."

Nova rolled his eyes. "Jeez, you're boring. Nothin' to share with us? I mean, we're running through this hell together; might as well get to know each other."

"I don't think now is the best time... Maybe once we're in a safe house, alright? How much further could it be?"

New Weapon: Hunting Rifle

The rifle was located next to the dead driver on the passenger side.

-Smoker coughing-

A smoker tongue wrapped around Nova and made to drag him off towards the top of a 3 story apartment building across the street. Along the way, Nova got smacked into a car, which set off the alarm.

-Horde approaching!-

"Whoa! What the- Ooh! Mine!" Kale tossed down his SMG and picked up the rifle. "Now, let's see what the fuck that thing is..." He peered through the scope and nearly drew it away in shock. "Damn, that thing's ugly! Alright, nighty-night, assface." He pulled the trigger and laughed out loud as the Smoker exploded. "That takes care of that. Now..." He turned around to face the massive horde charging toward them. "...Oh, fuck."

"Of course..." Cruz sighed, readying his blades.

With a groan, Briggs readied his shotgun, muttering "Back to work..."

Nova, out of the now-dead Smoker's grip, untangled himself from its tongue, and scrambled to his feet and back toward the group, readying his SMG. "Now would be a good time to run!"

"Run? I'd prefer to get a little creative with it! We're in the city, right? Anyone see any fire hydrants?"

There is one fire hydrant visible.

"Awesome! I see one! Right over there!" He ran over to it and brought a vicious kick down on it, flinging the nut off of it and releasing a jet of water all over the road. "You guys go on ahead, I'll take care 'a these assholes!"

"Hope you know what you're doin'!" Briggs said, running off down the street, Nova right behind him.

He laughed. "So do I!" he called back.

"Don't die! I was just startin' to like ya!" Cruz then followed Briggs and Nova.

"Don't worry about me, I got this!" He turned his attention to the horde. "Come an' get me, ya rottin' assfaces!" he called.

[Hey Cross, you wanna stick with you and Wolfy or stay around and watch Kale fry some Infected?]

[Well, it'd be a good idea to watch Kale's back. btw, if you all have yahoo, use it]

Once a safe distance away, Nova turned around, gun trained on the horde swarming on Kale.

"Yo!" Briggs said, stopping to look at Nova. "What's the hold-up!?"

"He might be a dumbass, but he's still useful! Just making sure he doesn't end up dead. Besides, I wanna see the fireworks."

Kale grinned as the horde grew near. "That's it, come an' get it!" He brought all of his remaining electrical charge to his control and began crackling himself, his fur standing on end. "Come on, now, just a little further..!" As the first few Infected sloshed into the jet of water, Kale dropped to his knees and slammed his arms into the water, laughing almost maniacally as they spasmed, fried, and collapsed.

At this sight, both wolves raised an eyebrow each. "...Okay," Briggs said after a second. "Now we know he's completely insane."

"He's no Cross, that's for sure. Not even on a bad day... Alright, I'm good," Nova said finally, turning back to run up the street, as did Briggs.

"Right..." Cruz said, following.

Satisfied with the pile of corpses in front of him, Kale checked the horizon to make sure there were no more Infected coming his way.

-Hunter growl-

A hunter pounces on Kale from all the way on top of a nearby building knocking away his gun, and starts clawing away at him.
